Breaking News: St. Leander School Garden Is Breaking Ground!
It’s been a year in the making, but our St. Leander School Garden is getting ready to grow! We have formed a Garden Committee made up of parents and teachers and will be forming a Garden Club with students from all grade levels.
Our school garden is located between our Big School and our Little School off Carpentier Street. It was begun in the Spring of 2008 by Maggie and John Carlson, alumni parents who gifted us with the design and construction of four planter boxes. The project was picked up in the Fall by school parent Ms. Araba Arceneaux, who volunteered to chair this committee under the PTG. Ms. Arceneaux has been working with a small core committee of parents to lay the next steps in place for designing and planting the boxes.
