Weekly Highlights

Boxtops for Education

Many thanks to all the St Leander families & friends who have turned in Box Tops & Labels for Education this year! To date we have earned $258.20 from Box Tops (that's 2,582 box tops clipped!), and 1,303 points from Campbells Labels for Education. Both programs are year-round so please keep up the great work collecting for our school. Every bit helps our kids & school staff! You may turn in box tops & labels to your classrooms or the office during the regular school year as well as summer school, or even in the offertory baskets at all St Leander Parish masses. If you're an online shopper please consider signing-up at www.btfe.com as a St Leander School supporter. The Box Tops site has a Marketplace tab & Reading Room tab, which route you to stores such as Old Navy, Gap, Barnes & Noble, Staples & Office Depot, and Oriental Trading Co to mention only a few. Each store offers a different percentage of your purchases back to the school, which can add up quick! Lastly, Labels for Education is offering double points for any submissions made by May 31st. Please turn in your labels to the school or parish collection baskets by May 24th so we can take full advantage of this promotion! Thank you again for all your support this year. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at deannachasteen@comcast.net or Cell 510-684-5744.

Tuition Contracts

Please sign and return your tuition contracts as soon as possible. In the next few weeks, when we have received your contract, we will provide you with the supply list, calendar, and information for the upcoming year. Thanks!

Family BBQ Cancelled

Unfortunately, only one person attended the BBQ planning meeting last Tuesday, so we are canceling the Spring BBQ. We will plan another Back to School BBQ in August.

Festival Meeting—next Saturday, May 15th. 9:30 AM Parish Center. Short. Quick. Important!

Congratulations to the following “Star Students!”

Summer School:

Applications are still available for Summer School. The dates are  June 21st –July 23rd.  If you would like to secure a space in our summer school program, please submit your application with a $50.00 deposit.   The final tuition payment will be due by Thursday, May 27th.    We will not be able to accept applications after classes have been filled.

Summer Fun at St. Leander

We are looking for folks to help chaperone activities in the gym this summer, especially Thursday and Friday nights from 6-8 PM. The activities have been planned—we just need adults to supervise to give our kids a safe and fun place to go. If you are available and can help out, that would be great. Please give the parish office a call at 895-5631.

Sunshine, Sunshine, Sunshine, Here We Come!

You may send your children with extra water on these hot days to keep them hydrated and healthy! Please write your child’s name on his/her water bottle to avoid mixups. Children may have water bottles in class and on the yard when it is so warm. Putting on a little extra sunscreen in the morning couldn’t hurt either, and children may wear hats when outside.

Congratulations to our Second Graders!

It is First Eucharist time! The following students came to the Lord’s Table for the first time this weekend:

Joshua Gamez, Aritza Brown, Saia Lorenzo, Brendan Lachelli, Chisom Agwumezie

More Congratulations

Camillia Creese in Kindergarten took home the first place medal in the 100 meter dash and second place in the 400 meter dash this past weekend (5/2/10) in the girls K-2 CYO track team finals for Assumption School. Also, Peter Ikekhide took home the second place medal in the 400 meter dash for the boy's K-2 finals. Fourth graders Cameron Creese, Jordan Jackson, Joseph Apkarian and Ebenezer Ikekhide will be competing at the CYO Diocesan  track finals 3-8th grade in Livermore, CA. Let’s wish them a successful run!
