From the Principal’s Office
November’s CLEAR Focus: We are Effective Communicators.
Dear Families,
In a few short days, we will be enjoying the Thanksgiving holidays with family and friends. I would like to express my sincere thanks to our St. Leander Family for a wonderful first trimester and for all the ways our parents have contributed.
We had a great crew for our Campus Cleanup Day on Saturday, November 6th, and we accomplished a grand cleanup of leaves, weeds, garden area, and playgrounds. Many thanks to Luis Gomez, Leslie’s Dad, who procured new metal grills for our windows to complement our new paint job. Speaking of our new paint job, our students gathered in an assembly to thank Mr. Peter Chang and his crew from “The Painters” who painted our two schools. Mr. Chang and Company did an excellent job—usually they do residential work, so this was a big project for them. We have their contact information in the office if you are looking for excellent, quality painters. We are grateful to our Room Parents and to all the parents who help in the school, in the classrooms, and those who work from their homes to organize papers, fold programs, etc. Thank you to our PTG for Kids’ Night Out, Pancakes With Santa (coming up) and for remembering the teachers on their birthdays. Thank you to our School Board who are developing long-range planning in the areas of Public Relations, Alumni Relations, and Facilities Planning.
Our Food Drive has really picked up steam, and donations are coming in regularly. Thank you for helping feed those in need this Thanksgiving. Operation Warm Coats has also been a huge success. May we all appreciate the ways God has blessed us at St. Leander and may we show our appreciation by our continued support of each other and those in need around us.
Thanksgiving blessings to you and yours,
Sincerely,
Lynne Kennedy Mullen
Principal

VP Corner – Ms. Amy Cross
We are being vigilant about requesting doctor’s notes before readmitting children to the school who have been seen by their doctor or have been out of school sick for more than three days. We also continue to be vigilant about our health practices at school. We will continue these procedures for the duration of this situation until the flu crisis is well passed. Please understand that if you take your child to the doctor, we insist on a note of clearance before your child comes back. Remember not to send your child to school if he/she is sick. Thank you for your careful and continued attention to this important matter. We apologize for any inconvenience this policy may cause, but we are simply not taking any chances with the health of our students and staff members. Fun to Come
Please sign up to help with Pancakes With Santa coming up. See the enclosed flyer!!
Attendance Thank you for your continued efforts to get your children to school on time. We are really cutting down on the number of tardies and disruptions to the beginning of the school day. Being on time is an important life skill and gets everyone’s day off to a smooth start. Great progress, everyone! If you are still having trouble, set some family goals and rewards for yourselves to celebrate every step of progress! |
