From the Principal’s Office
December’s CLEAR Focus: We are Active and Positive
Leaders.
Dear Families,
What fun we had on Sunday at the PTG Pancakes with Santa Breakfast! Thank you to all the PTG leaders and parents who helped make this a fun and festive event. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus for making a special trip to St. Leander for this event. Many thanks also for all the warm coats.
Our next big event is our Christmas Program on Tuesday, December 15th! We will begin in the church at 7:00 PM. Please see the enclosed flyer for specific information about where your child should be dropped off and picked up that evening. Students should wear “Sunday Best,” and we ask parents not to block the aisles or doors of the church for safety reasons. We will have the program recorded and have someone taking pictures. Parents may take pictures/video from the back wall.
Our children have been working very hard on their songs, and this promises to be another wonderful performance! We look forward to seeing you in church on Tuesday, December 15th at 7:00 PM.
Sincerely,
Lynne Kennedy Mullen
Principal

Evacuation Drill:
Friday, December 18th is our annual evacuation drill. We will begin our drill with a duck and cover practice in the classrooms at 10:35. Students will then evacuate the classrooms and follow all regular evacuation procedures. We will all line up on the primary campus. Students may be picked up as early as 11:00 am. All students must be picked up by 12:00 pm. Every child must be picked up by a person designation on his/her emergency form. There will be NO AFTERNOON SLED. Please send a note if a person that is not on your child’s emergency form will need to pick her/him up on December 18th. NO students will be released without authorization, and every adult must have a picture ID with them to be presented for verification.
Health and Immunization Updates:
Some students will receive scoliosis referrals this week. Please follow up with your doctor and send in verification by the end of January. Also, I would like to thank our very dedicated parent volunteers who have been completing our health records. Thank you Mrs. Hylton and Ms. Gentry. We really appreciate your help. |
Service Hours Updates
We are working to get out a Service Hours update before Christmas. This will include invoices for those families who did not participate in our Fall Fundraiser or pay the “opt-out” fee. If you feel any of your reported hours are mistaken, please note the corrections on the paper and send it to the office to Mrs. Heisick. As you can imagine, it is a very big job to keep track of all these hours, so if we missed some, just let us know. Thanks!
St. Leander Parish Crab Feed
St. Leander Parish presents its 3rd Annual Crab Feed on Saturday, February 6th. Tickets are $35 each until January 31st ( $40 after Jan 31st) and may be purchased at the parish office—they make a great Christmas gift for the “crab lover” in your life. Dinner includes delicious crab, salad, garlic bread, and a lovely dessert auction. Our Eighth Grade class will be helping serve and we are in need of four parents to help work in the kitchen. Parent hours are available. Please contact the school office if you can help. Also, if you enjoy baking and would like to provide a dessert for the dessert auction, you may also earn parent hours. We’ll send more information about the dessert auction after the holidays. This is another great parish event and the reviews the last two years have been terrific. We expect another “sold out” dinner, so get your tickets early!
